Melted Brie & Caramelized Onion Bruschetta

Instead of cutting the brie up and making the little bruschetta appetizers, wrap the brie in thawed puff pastry. Bake on 425 for 15 to 20 minutes or until the outside is golden brown and crusty and the inside has melted. Serve with the baked toasts.

Ingredients -

1 Package Brie Cheese
3/4 Large White Onion, sliced in thin strips
2 Teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Honey
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Loaf French Bread, sliced thinly

Preparation:
  1. Preheat the oven to broil.
  2. Sauté the onions in olive oil on medium high heat.
  3. Add the honey and salt.
  4. Sauté until the onions have wilted and have become golden brown.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Slice the brie into 1/4 inch-thick slices.
  7. Arrange the bread slices on a non-stick baking pan.
  8. Layer the brie then a spoonful of caramelized onions on top.
  9. Broil in the oven for approximately 3 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
