Molasses Chicken Wings

These wonderful little appetizers are a great take on a classic chicken wings recipe. By baking them, the chicken releases a lot of its natural oils so it makes them moist and sweet.

Ingredients -

18 Chicken Wings (approximately 4 pounds)
1/2 Cup Dark Soy Sauce
1/2 Cup Molasses
12 Garlic Cloves, finely minced
1/2 Tablespoon Paprika
1/2 Tablespoon Cayenne Pepper
3/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Sweet Chili Sauce
1/3 Cup Dark Jamaican Rum
1/2 Cup Water
3 Tablespoons Parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

Preparation:
  1. Cut the tips off of the wings.
  2. Wash and drain the wings thoroughly.
  3. Combine the wings with all of the ingredients.
  4. Mix well and cover with plastic wrap.
  5. Let the chicken wings marinate for 2 hours or overnight.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  7. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread the wings evenly on the baking sheet.
  8. Pour the remaining marinade over the wings.
  9. Bake for 40 minutes then flip the wings over using tongs.
  10. Bake for another 30 minutes until the marinade has become thick and the wings are dark golden brown.
  11. Turn the oven to high broil.
  12. Make sure that the baking sheet is on the lower racks.
  13. Broil the wings for approximately 10 minutes or until they have slightly darkened and are just crisp.
  14. Let the wings rest for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
  15. Sprinkle with the chopped parsely.
